COMITEE SHALL STUDY THE LEAD CONTAMINATION PREVENTION
The Brazilian Government launched the National Plan to Prevent Lead Contamination. Pb-S.AMERICA joined the first meeting and highlighted the importance of upcoming regulations for the battery and recycling industry. Updates will follow in February 2026.
The Brazilian Government, through the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, held on December 2, 2025 the first meeting on the topic:
NATIONAL ACTION PLAN TO PREVENT LEAD CONTAMINATION
Pb-S.AMERICA magazine was invited to join this committee, represented by its national director, Evandro de Marchi, who thanks the Agency for the invitation and reinforces, based on his nearly 30 years of experience on the subject, the great relevance of this theme.
He highlights that companies must remain attentive, as the working group on lead may significantly impact the entire production chain, especially recyclers and battery manufacturers, given the future regulations, laws, and guidelines that may be established.
During this first meeting, participants introduced themselves and suggested additional names to join the project.
Pb-S.AMERICA magazine will participate in the upcoming meetings, already scheduled for February 2026, when we will disclose all updates.
